ISWA World Congress 2021, Athens, 4-7 October 2021 – Scientific Programme Announcement

Dear Waste Professionals,
The programme is ready! Join us in exploring the first programme details of the 2021 Hybrid ISWA World Congress 4-7 October in Athens. More details on the sessions and speakers will be added soon.
The Scientific Programme of the ISWA World Congress 2021 focuses on “From waste management to circular economy – The road ahead”. Circular economy is a central pillar of new policies and is deeply interconnected with climate change mitigation policies. In the coming years new waves of legislation and regulations are expected to stimulate the transition from linear economy and waste management to a circular economy at a global level. This will require serious changes aiming to promote zero waste production and resource efficiency as well as climate change mitigation.
The congress will focus on this transition and the changes required. This will include discussions on overcoming obstacles, improving daily practices, developing infrastructure for recycling and recovery, regulatory aspects, funding mechanisms, social acceptance, as well as how this might affect the design of our cities.
