In the recent years, the ISWA World Congress has been recognized as the most impactful international congress in the field of waste management. We are very proud to announce that this year’s congress will take place in Athens, Greece, from 4-7 October 2021. The congress is being hosted for the first time by the Hellenic Solid Waste Management Association – HSWMA, in Greece, and organized in cooperation with the International Solid Waste Association – ISWA.
The ISWA World Congress offers the perfect setting for networking between experts and key stakeholders from across the world.
The call for abstracts is now OPEN. Don’t miss your chance to present your research on an international scale.
We are honored to invite you and participate actively in this outstanding international event.
The congress, with the theme “From waste management to a circular economy – the road ahead” will include keynote and plenary sessions by invited speakers, and concurrent sessions with oral and poster presentations by the participants.
We therefore invite you to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations on one of the following topics:
- Understanding circular economy: concepts, limitations, and questions
- Waste Management in the Circular Economy
- The role of governance in the shift towards a circular economy
- Circular economy and plastics
- Circular Economy and the tourism industry
- Circular Economy in the Balkan Region, Mediterranean, and the EU sphere of influence
- Marine Litter in the Mediterranean context
